I am the CEO and Founder of The Given Hope Project, where I serve as a Relationship and Family Coach dedicated to empowering foster children, foster agencies, and kinship guardians by providing them with valuable resources and support to ensure the well-being and development of the children in their care.
I am a mom to one 18-year-old daughter who is currently attending Howard University. In addition to being an educator, mentor, child advocate, and lifelong learner. I am a college student who is currently attending Bowie State University, studying the Sociology B.S Program, with a graduation year of 2026. Over the years, I have worked closely with children and a few families through a foster agency and within the school system. In addition to years of experience working with children on the spectrum and other exceptional disorders.
The vision for The Given Hope Project is to make a major impact within the foster community.
NO child has asked to be here, but it is our responsibility to work on making each child's life better. Unfortunately, unexpected events happen, which then cause a child to fall into the foster system. Therefore, every bit of help counts.
One thing I was told, and it has truly stuck with me in my mind and heart, “Never take things away from a child who has lost everything, because they can’t afford to have anything else taken away.” Let’s give those children more than what has already been taken away from them. Giving is more than tangible things. Given can include a word of encouragement, a kept promise, or simply keeping your word, meaning if you say it, then you must follow through with it.
